Kia Prepares New Rio5 Variant for 2011 SEMA Show

Last year, South Korean automaker, Kia made its first entry into the world of auto racing with the Kia Forte Koup. Now it seems like the racing bug has sunk its fangs into everyone at Kia, as they're now preparing to debut a racing-tuned version of the already popular Kia Rio5 at the 2011 SEMA Show. Stockton Kia could not be more excited, and as such, we would like to take a minute to go over everything we know about this thrilling new model.

Known as the B-Spec Kia Rio5, the new variant has been in development with Kia Motor America's racing partner Kinetic Motorsports. So far, little is known about the new racer other than that it will feature a competition roll cage, safety equipment and suspension components. but that hasn't stopped us from feasting our eyes on the teaser image that has made its way around the web, which showcases the model's white and red paint job and Kinetic Motorsports graphics.

Michael Sprague of KMA says, "We have a unique opportunity to introduce Kia to a new and passionate racing community by providing an affordable and great-looking race car that delivers best-in-class horsepower in the rapidly expanding B-segment."1

For now, we're left to play the guessing game in terms of what will be tweaked and improved in the  B-Spec Kia Rio5. We can however, give you the inside scoop on the current 2012 Kia Rio5. This way, you can make an educated guess as to what to expect on November 1st, when the B-Spec Kia Rio5 makes its debut.
